CND Events and Event Managers
Im working with two event teams that are independent of each other to endeavour to create some fun, large scale events at Club NEVERDIE.
Lykke and ViagraFalls are two wonderful, funny and creative individuals who have done much to entertain and capture the imagination of the PE communtiy...
They have lots of fun little events they love to do, that are not finacialy driven and I'm trying to work with them to develop a large scale mining event that will have large prizes and will offer the opportunity for societies to compete. ...
It's quite challenging to work out such an Event, ultimately it may not appeal to everyone and it may have lots of kinks to be worked out, but we are attempting to create something that will be accessible to a lot of well organized societies.
Your constuctive feedback and sensitvity is much appreceated.
Its not an easy job, but we are determined to learn from our mistakes.
---------------
Im also working with OgiOgimini who also put together a popular event a while back, he has a passion for creating quests and he likes to tease, dangle clues, leave people in the dark and ultimately lead them on a merry chase.. Might sound like a nightmare to some, a riddle, or a quest to others...Ultimately after the the First Space quest is over we will all discover where it's all leading...
I'm also working with OgiOgiMini to develop a large scale HoF Event
It's a simple Concept that involves a HoF race... It could be fun and I certainly am interested to see who might win such an event and to see if such an event would be dominated by the lucky, the skillful or the uber, ... I think it's a commercial idea, which is why there are banners all over the place... (another experiment)
When the Rules are posted, we can all take a look at the gameplan and throw ideas around, speculate if it will be a fair, fun event etc, etc...
I'm sure that over the course of the next year some great events will come into play that many of us will want to participate in...
In the meantime lots of different ideas must be tried out in order for us to find out what works...
Since this post is placed in the RealityPort.com forum, I ask please be patient and respectful toward the different CND Event managers, They are only human and they are investing a lot of time in these projects....
It's already well established that I am trying to create a high profile virtual Event Venue, I want to brand some cool events and market them to the world... I'm fair game, if u want to deride my style, choices and my vision.. I believe in the future of PE and the world of opportunity that Virtual Reality offers. I'm more than happy to put my ass on the line, Everyday is a pure thrill ride for me.
thanks, for your patience.

I dont mean to be insulting here but I feel the use of the word 'event' is getting old real quick, when I see it 'another' event it makes me cringe, I must admit some sound fun but 'event flooding' bores me.
I feel all efforts should be concentrated on getting the domes in a shape that ppl will enjoy a 'hunting holiday' I can see the potential and and looking forward to the time I can enjoy a trip to cND as much as I do my trips to Crystal Palace

Kygon - Maybe one event thread per event? I feel that may cut down on some of the oversatturation as well as confusion we have seen.
Also, my hats off the the event coordinators. Much respect. If there is anything I can do to help, just let me know.

For the mining event, we fellt it was better to create two threads. One explaining the event, one with participating socs, for easy reference during the event.
We were pondering starting a third thread most likely right before the event starts, in which the "free domes" are announced, and the score will be tallied (it will also be the place to upload screenshots etc). However, if you feel this would clog up the forums, we might consider doing it in one massive thread. We just figured that seeing free domes and participating socs will be updated every month perhaps one thread per month (that can be locked, and then used as a reference) might be easier.
Input welcome

Kygon, what are you reffering to exactly? The Domes have undergone a major overhaul since CND was first opened, there is continual tweaking and adjusting of maturity, based on the feedback of the community..
But given the limited DNA that can currently be manufactured CND is basicly at a very good place..
If you care to make specific constructive suggestions for balancing based upon the feedback you have bneen getting from people actualy hunting or mining at CND. I'm all ears. And eager to make adjustments.
Regarding Events however, CND is an EVENT venue, not just another hunting ground. You can expect all kinds of stuff to be in the works.
Ourt goal is to nail a few really good ones.

TBH the main problem for me can really be put down to the limited DNA and spawn density issues - I feel MA should have involved yourself in the intital setup of the domes maturity etc.
I didnt mean to come over negative, and I give major kudos to you for the dome tweaking and the events team for the admin efforts the only think I'd like to pass on the team is "less is more"
I'm going to spend a week or so at cND and I'll post after that... I dont feel its fair giving second hand feedback here.
I have every faith that cND will become a very attractive hunting ground and events venue, I guess the way I feel is due to my 'I want it now.. now.. now.. attitude'
