SteeleSeries Joins Champions League
SteelSeries Announces New Sponsorship of Complexity
Copenhagen, Denmark - January 23rd, 2007 -- SteelSeries, a leading manufacturer of innovative professional gaming gear, today announced a new sponsorship of North American multi-gaming organisation compLexity Gaming. With the new sponsorship SteelSeries and compLexity will be affiliated throughout 2007 and the full SteelSeries product line of headsets, keyboards and mouse pads will be used by compLexity's players.
compLexity Gaming was founded in 2003 and today employs professional video game players and markets to a global audience through its gaming entertainment ventures. Since its inception the company's world renowned Counter-Strike squad has won several high profile tournaments, including the Electronic Sports World Cup, World Series of Video Games and DirecTV Championship Invitational. In 2006 compLexity's Counter-Strike team amassed total winnings of approximately $150,000 USD.
SteelSeries was founded in 2001 and is a leading manufacturer of professional gaming gear, targeted at the hardcore competitive gaming segment. The company manufactures headsets, keyboards, software, mouse pads and other equipment for gamers striving to take their game to the next level. The company's mission is to create performance enhancing gaming gear that reduces reaction times and enhances precision and accuracy.
“We're proud to be chosen as provider of gaming equipment for compLexity, one of the most successful teams in the history of eSports," says Kim Rom, Head of PR & Communications for SteelSeries. “The amazingly talented players from compLexity will help us with product development, which is a vital part of our strategy and design philosophy. After all, who is better suited for the task, than the pro's who actually uses the products when they win the world's toughest tournaments?"
“A lot of companies claim to support eSports, gaming and the fantastic community around it, but in reality their involvement is very limited in scope and sincerity. However SteelSeries has been the leading innovator of team sponsorships on a global level and are as passionate about gaming as the people who play the actual games," says Jason Lake, CEO of compLexity Gaming, LLC. “Via products, cash, moral support and business advice SteelSeries has always gone above and beyond, and I am thrilled to be partnered with them for another great season for compLexity Gaming."
SteelSeries and compLexity will cooperate on product development on a wide range of new products, including mice, keyboards, headsets and mouse pads.
