Hi, just arrived here
Hi, I have just arrived at CND. My first impression is that CND has a lot of potential but it is almost empty. I hope there will be events running all the time and CND will become a popular virtual space resort.
I am putting together a CND page on my wiki:
http://uvvy.com/index.php/Club_Neverdie
I am interested in Entropia mainly to explore potential of VR social spaces.
Where can I meet people here?
G.

Hello and welcome to the forum and CND ... I would say that the #1 hangout at CND is the Control Room. You should always run into people there at any given hour of the day.
With regard to events ... we are working on having a "themed event" every Saturday evening from 21:00 to Midnite MA time, with an "After Party" afterwards which is usually an event in and of itself, so there's plenty of socializing going on. Many of the residents have created their own personal dance floors within their apts and parties seem to abound at any time of day or night, so there again is an opportunity to socialize with the regulars, and often non-regulars who inhabit CND.
We also have player-run events, or even known group events which are advertised at this form in event-related areas, so be sure to check those out as well. Then there is often a special event that is driven by media presence, and these events happen at times without much notice, so it's always good to stay tuned to the forum and all of the announcements.
Posting at this forum as well will keep you interactive with the membership base ... it will give you an opportunity to get to know us, as well as us get to know you.
So welcome again to the forum and CND ... we have a wonderful community who is ready to assist in whatever way possible, so don't be shy about letting us know if you need anything.
Looking forward to seeing you around.

Hello gp1!
Let me assure you, that you will find the fun, or it will find you. We are entering an exciting time, and events will become more prominent, on the calendar. Trust me, you will need some of the quiet time, to recover.

So I went to the control room following the advice I received here, and had the good chance to meet Asti and Mindstar.
Looking fwd to seeing you all around.
I am not so interested in VR to escape physical reality, but rather to augment it with new options. So the things I am most interested in are "real" meetings in cyberspace - like this in Second Life:
http://uvvy.com/index.php/Report070606
I believe EU does not have all the technical features needed to implement RL-like cultural events. What is needed is a voice chat system and a PPT in-game equivalent. External system can be used for voice chat (losing part of the total immersion feeling). What about PPT (uploading and displaying images)?
c u soon in CND, I logged off in teh control room.

hi gp1
Good to see another new face here
With regards to image uploading i dont think it is currently available but i think there may be a chance in the future that this may be available especially (i hope) with the in game ads etc
Fingers crossed anyway.
As new Vu's are coming more and more features are set up and lets hope these bring what you desire
Hope to see you soon
Rip
