Problem with finding flights

It took me a total of 3 or 4 hours to find a flight down to the surface yesterday. I needed to go down so I could hang out with friends who were there.

Is anyone else having this problem? I don't support having a paid TP because I believe that the hangar owners need to have their income, but there has to be some solution like maybe an auto-flight that the owners can set up and still get paid?

The easier it is to go up and down, the more traffic CND will get.

i agree totally

i know maybe 4 pilots but i have real probs trying to find them when i need to travel

flying up is not so bad, but back down is a bit of a nightmare atm. i am totally behind the hanger owners tho, i tried to buy one myself, but "missed the boat" on that :/

while i am thinking of flights i would also like to see a little animation in flight.... lol like a in flight movie lolz, but i will pass on the fish meal... i remember watching airplane oO hahaha

I absolutely agree with you Epic ...

I know there are several things in the works right now to make it not only less costly for ppl to shuttle back and forth, but also for more frequent shuttles to be available through the day and night so ppl don't have to wait hours.

I have several pilots on my FL, and whenever I'm on in the late evening, I make an effort to hang out in the Control Room to get ppl hooked up with a shuttle svc. I have been able to coordinate this with some success, but more shuttle svcs need to be available at more times throughout the day and night.

I have toyed with the idea of creating a "JetStar Alliance Travel Booking Svc" ... Jetboy and Blood Moon (who will be back from vacation on the 6th) can also be available at various times to help coordinate shuttle flights between customers and shuttle svcs.

The premise would be for us to get all pilots on our FL in an effort to see when they are online so that we can bring them the business. There would be a protocol in place that would assure fairness in connecting customers with shuttle svcs.

Jetboy, Blood Moon and I are in constant contact and communicate through Skype. There could be a chart created that we all share and frequently update with regard to which customers were referred to which shuttle svcs. We are not always on at the same time, so at least one of us would be available to provide the svc.

Prior to going to work for a major airline, Jetboy actually worked in the travel agency industry many years, so he is very familiar with the dynamics of such. Blood Moon has his own expertise and creative abilities, the least of which is an incredible personality that people are instantly drawn to ... not to mention how crazy ass funny these guys are.

Not sure what will happen with this, but I'll do an update if we decide to launch the svc.

I think what the problem might be is that perhaps most of the hangar owners and shuttle svcs are located in Europe, so it leaves the US and other areas without many options given the times that they are online.

With a lot of brainstorming that's going on right now, I'm hoping that all of these issues can be worked out to the benefit of the community, and also in an effort to get more ppl to the Space Resort and Club ND to experience this next dimension of our virtual environment.

PS:

I SO totally wish JetStar Alliance would have jumped in and gotten a hangar with ship, bcuz I know that your experiences flying with us would cause you to "roll" down the ramp instead of step off. We also would have been available the hours that many would need the shuttle svcs as well. Oh well ... maybe in the future!

I think what would help out and maybe MA will implement this is a terminal where people who want to go down can put there names in and pilots can then direct them to where the ship is berthed plus have a price per person for the flight. The pilots could also schedule times so people can catch flights. (sorry if this was mentioned in an earlier post)

Just a further explaination since I am a hanger owner and I am up at CND it takes me a while to get a full flight up and back plus coordinate everyone. If there is a flight terminal I can input my docking berth, time I am leaving, and cost of trip. Now people can add their names and pay for tickets for the flight back. If they flight doesnt happen for whatever reason(CTD, lag, RL issues) then passengers are refunded ticket amount. This might be all in the works already but it would make going anywhere in space easier.

What an excellent idea ... that sure would make it more convenient. I guess because of all the variables involved, it would take MA to figure out the logistics in making this happen.

If I were MA (which I'm not of course ... although it might be nice to work in the office next to that hottie Marco ) ... I think I would only put such a terminal in the Control Room at CND and use that as a central location to coordinate shuttle svcs. I have found that it's the one place that ppl usually gather the most to find out if there are any shuttles available.

With regard to Calypso or Amathera ... I would make some location on TI as the hub for this terminal ... and then with Calypso, that might be a harder challenge. Even though PA is an entry port, it may not be as convenient with the amt of lag present. If MA (you listening Marco? ) could fix the lag issue to be better, then perhaps that might be the most likely location.

I'm sure one way or another it will all get worked out.

I think i speak for myself and Ripper at the minute although im sure some other hanger owners would agree. All we want to do is make sure that more people have access to Neverdie so that more and more people can see how HUGE it is.

Anything that MA can sort out would be great because im having to delete people off my FL constantly to make room for passengers too.

Maybe theres something we can do about that? at the minute i do it on a daily basis to keep it clean.

Anyway great posts

Yeah, as long as the hangar owner still gets charged with the ship decay and oil, and as long as there's a mechanism for the passenger to pay the hangar owner, does he or she REALLY have to be online and flying the ship?

My bright idea of the day:
Maybe MA can introduce an autopilot shopkeeper who both does transactions and flies the ship.

Hello

I completely agree Epic. There needs to be a way that ppl can give flights while offline. Not sure how this would work though? ATM there are hangers all over the place some in better places than others. Would it be that each autopilot shopkeeper when on CND could have a map of where the corresponding hanger is?

Not sure what the implecations would be but I think a way would need to be sought around this? Im really in a muddle as to what would be the best. Pilot shopkeeper or renting system so that owners can give allow another avatar to pilot the ship when owner not online without any risk to the owner from losing a very valuable piece of kit.

Anyway. Im really intrigued to how this will pan out and hope that ppl can sort something out soon.

With regards to the inflight entertainment and such. RipTure travel offers you more of a rollercoaster ride which is err fun (cus creature still cant use the controls hahahaha)

Rip

PS put us down for an autopilot shopkeeper if they come up lol
