Uploading pics . . . - Realityport

I would like to solicit everyone's help in making sure that picture sizes do not expand the forum when posting.

Geek that I'm not (although the language can be a turn-on

... I know, I'm kinky) ... perhaps there's a way that CPH can encode the process so that it prevents the expansion from happening.

If this is possible, then fine ... but until this is determined and something done about it, I would like to ask each of you to please resize your pics prior to uploading to make the forum easier to read.

PS:

I didn't say I wasn't computer literate

... my experience involves more installation and teaching of computer operation basics, as well as software application training, but it's the "hard core" programming that I'm REALLY blonde about.

Also I might suggest something EF does, where they give you code for a "thumbnail" posting that you click to see the full image.

Thx for that suggestion Epic ... perhaps CPH will give it some thought.

I for one resize my pics to 500 x *** before uploading. Then when I do my storylines, I copy the BB code from the pic in the gallery and insert it into my post. That way I feel the pic is large enough for everyone to see the detail as they're reading thru the storylines without having to click and open additional windows.

I am not a fan of thumbnail bcuz far too often when clicking on a thumbnailed pic it still isn't large enough to identify specific details such as chat window data, or items in loot windows.

Whatever system is eventually set up, I'm sure it will serve its purpose ... I on the other hand will continue to use the method I'm used to bcuz it's working for me.

800x600 will fit into the message area without expanding the forum default width.

Any smaller than this and I can't quite read the text in the message window, but perhaps that might be because my screen resolution is 1600x1200?

I think keeping it under 800 as Dem suggests is good. Also, I have my own forum in which we use kick-ass thumbnails that most ppl tend to like. So that, coupled with smaller pics, might do the trick.

Thx for the input Svet ... much appreciated. Not sure what Chris is using, but I'm sure we'll get it under control one way or another.
