CTD that costs peds!

Tonight, I convinced 3 socm8s that it would be fun to goto cND for an event.

With about 15 minutes to go before the start of the event, we were in a bit of a hurry.

I only had 1 pilot online, and she was already at cND.
Thankfully, a pilot advertised in Twin Peaks that she had 4 seats available, and we were on our way.

With a little under 10 minutes to go, we reached the Fertiliser Room.
I purchased my ticket/registration.
3 seconds later I get a CTD.
No problem I thought, wait the mandatory 1 minute, then relog.
Upon login though, I was back in the Hangar on Calypso !!!
Other socm8s and pilot were all ok up at cND.
I relogged again, just in case it was a glitch.
It wasn't

My sincere thanx to "Foxy FoxyPilot Cuddlebottom" who returned to the planet with an empty ship to take me up for the second time in 20 minutes.
Consequently, I missed a whole 1/3 of the event (definately NOT happy about that!)
Of course, I paid my fare up again too.

I have created a Support Case (included below for completness) and will update a reply for anyone concerned. No idea when that'll be though, MA seem to be ignoring Support Cases atm.

Dear Support,

I paid for a flight upto cND on 29-07-2006 at appoximately 18:40.

Not only did I have to pay twice to get to the Event, I also missed 20 minutes of the event, a full 1/3 of the total event time.

I would appreciate it if you could see your way to reimbursing my additional costs, and perhaps a portion of the event entry fee as I was unable to attend through no fault of my own.
And yes, I know your policy on refunds etc. but I feel this is an exceptional case.

I feel for you, but I'm not going to lie. I'm fairly sure you won't be getting anything back. Their EULA clearly states that you play the game "as is" and take full responsibility for any losses.

I get ctd too, but only after i register

yes...seems alot of people (myself included) crash after trying to open the list of people particpating in the event terminal ...why, no clue, but I avoid it now...

I've noticed that when you open it (yes, I've managed to open it) there are a lot of empty entries (it will list a few names, then some blanks, more names, more blanks, etc.). This leads me to believe they're not populating the list properly and are most likely getting an arrayIndexOutOfBounds exception.

Interesting theory Bane.
Except I had registered, closed the boxes, and was just deciding which dome I was going to use.

So basically, I was sood there, not doing anything, for a few seconds before the CTD.

Oh, no, no... I'm not sure why you CTD. I was just telling people why they CTD when they open up the "Who's Registered" window.
