Why don't people use rep here?

We have a reputation system here but I don't think people know about it.

I have 1100+ posts here and like 4 rep.

Well, I'm taking my ass over there RIGHT now to validate your awesome self Hon, bcuz you ARE a major contributor to this forum.

Perhaps everyone isn't aware that we have a rep system here and that the icon is in the form of the scales of justice to the left of the post window beneath the avi name.

Then again ... maybe we don't need the rep system here. We had a discussion about it a while back, but everyone seems to be comfortable in how we all post. Everyone's contributions are appreciated, and I truly think that we all know that, and are comfortable with that.

I think too it's bcuz we are all pretty forthcoming in how we express ourselves in posts regarding others' contributions and letting them know just how much we like something, or an idea that was presented. This community is extremely supportive of each other and not shy about saying how awesome someone is in posts, so maybe we just don't need a rep system right now ... or ever.

Just as an FYI ... there are a lot of members in this community who have contributed "majorly" to it's growth, and who continue to make this forum what it is. Therefore, I will tell you ... and everyone else ... that we've been in brainstorming mode for a while now to determine how we're going to recognize those members. We are close to a final decision and it will be announced soon, so hang in there.

Maybe the way our community recognizes each other in print is sufficient enough, rather than having a rep system like other forums do! I'm just not a fan of the rep system bcuz everyone isn't sensible when using it. There's just too much potential for abuse the likes of what we've seen at other forums.

I was wondering the same thing. I am very aware of the reputation system, but i only give out +rep to those who really have good posts (or those that i read at least).

Although some post should definitely be repped, people just tend to forget (myself included).
