It has been one of my greatest ambitions and goals to one day reach the rig. I have tried several attempts in the past with no success. However, after going on a quick shopping spree (courtesy of Squee's event), I got a rather inexpensive TP chip! With my better armor as well, off I went!
Ran south of Nymph (my usual route), went as far in as I could into the PvP ring without being eaten, then fired it up. 24290, 8265 were the coords. I couldn't get the exact coords right but I was close. Then with a boom I was gone! (love it). Unfortunetly I must've passed it and landed in a group of AOA's. Lovely.
This time instead of sending me back north to the outpost south of Nymph, it shot me southwest of the rig. Bah, that's no good! However the trip was easier than the other one: the only mob for the trip were exo, molisk and cows, which have a relativly low threat level for passing by.
Got closer, then chipped again, this time hitting the target. Big group of other players, I'm dead for sure. But these friendly folk kept me around, which was frickin' awesome
Then they left after a short time, and the rig was open! I was getting all excited, I was to hit oil for sure! However this was my first time out there with a group of people who were old veterans at this for a long time, so any oil that came out was quickly taken. I had no clue what to do really. Then a guy named Rambo came and took us out. Nice fella...
As I layed there dead the oil came out...
sigh...of course reviving and coming back it was long gone and was shot dead again. One of the funny things I guess is at least they apologized every time
Every once in a great while there would be a group of friendly ubbers there that would sit back and let others in...still no oil for me though
One of the guys was taping for the youtube contest, so for once everyone but stryker had their guns put away and went in a big conga line! We danced and ran around in circles in the rig, and was quite a sight. We had like 11 of us running around bumping against troxies. Afterwords when the filming was done we were of course taken out.
As I was about to give up and realize it was hopeless, it happened, the impossible! Both ubbers died fighting troxs away from the rig, thus I had a few precious seconds to myself! I literally stood there, both hands on the ready, whispering "oil oil oil oil oil", then it came! 1422 barrels of liquid gold! I happily brought out my refiner and began to refine it when bogger came back and brought the troxies with him. Didn't survive, but I was pleased with the night's pull. I made more with that one pull than I did the whole break hunting and mining.
...needless to say I'm addicted to the rig now
...And btw debbie, you can quit stalking me now
