CNSA leadership

With everything that is going on it is imperative that we, the members of CNSA, combine our efforts to improve the PE interface, politics etc. We need someone to voice OUR opinion to MA.

It seems to me that some members are quite active, but the leader, Aziphirael, is nowhere to be found on this forum. Heck, I've never even met him on CND!

I encourage Aziphirael to be more active in this forum, both to share his knowledge and experience, and to take charge of CNSA.

Hey, I believe that having a shopkeepers association is essential to our survival as a business community at CND. One should also be made down on Calypso but that is a different story. We do need to talk about benefits, rules, organizational hierarchy, membership requirements and anything else that may be required to set up a functional organization.

I like the initiative that one has already been developed but it seems that it is in a stalled state right now. We need to get the ball rolling on this one.

Yup, I meant essential since you pointed that out. I knew I shouldn't have tried going above my vocabulary level.

I agree with Stoffer and Rob - we need leadership - and I haven't seen any from Aziphirael. I get the distinct impression that he is overloaded.

Could I be radical here and suggest that we elect a rep for the CNSA - someone who represents the shopkeepers and is active in CND and the forum? Elections every six months or so?

BTW ..I am not putting myself forward for this

hi.

I know Az is busy, so rather than just electing new maybe set up a bit more of a association here? I know it is already there but atm we have the association and the shopkeepers. maybe have a vice to aid Az and step in in times like this? also could it be split further having different reps for each area who could maybe give advice and stuff?

This way like ppl have said it would enable things to progress more quickly and free up Az for some of his other commitments. (and they mst be huge, just look how good the entropian was )

maybe having a monthly get together or something to discuss some of the issues and ideas on how we as a community/association can improve the way our businesses are run

At the end of the day there is the competition factor with the auction and calypso itself so if we could improve the way we do operate could we compete heavily? One thing we could all aggree on is that there is a slow but steady stream of ppl going to the mall at CND but i think if we work together a little we could promote the mall a little more and make it the BEST place to go to buy items on PE.

Couple of ideas -

- Full CNSA owners list so we all know whos in
- Cargo flights cheap-free for shop owners to reduce costs
- Grouping Ads - gr8 one

im sure there could be a lot of other ideas these are just a couple.

Cant wait

Rip

Hey All,

Well I have been thinking of this for a bit and here's my thoughts.

First of all, I dont think Stoff started this thread to bust on Azi. I think he was merely stating that the idea of CNSA came to an abrupt halt. I have yet to meet Azi but from what I hear he is a great guy. My only concern is that he has a full time job that requires him to travel, he has to manage a successful magazine, and then he has to worry about CNSA. If I were him my priorities would put CNSA at the end too. He has a lot of commitments but he can't be in several places at once. So my suggestion is that maybe Azi be an overseer or maybe a consultant to the CNSA organization. This would give him more time to concentrate on his other priorities.

Secondly, it seems that the active shopowners I have met here in game and on the forum seem to be all mature adults and friends in some way. I like Epic's acronym of Club Neverdie ShopKeepers Association but it sounds too alienated. If we are all friends why not consider changing it to Club Neverdie's ShopKeeper's Alliance. I mean, from the sound of it, we are all friends, allies in a way, constantly looking out for each other and our CND community as a whole. Just a thought.

Thirdly, I believe we should get a list of all actual shopowners. Not the resellers who buy the places on auction but actual active shopkeepers. We should then post a list and make a poll that can last one full week and elect people to different positions. We should definitely have a president, a vice president to fill in in his absence, and then maybe a board of trustees to help oversee future shopowners. These people need to be active participants in our community. Also, maybe a shopowner mentor could be implemented to help new shopowners start up shop cause I know it was a pain for me at first figuring ouit all the tricks of the trade. Another position could be official buyer or service finder. We need to find someone trustworthy that we can rely on. For instance, we need a buyer both on CND and Calypso that can spot a good deal and get it for us. I myself need to find a good ore/enmatter buyer. I'm sure Epic and Stoffer would benefit from someone who could snatch up a good deal on a weapon or armor set. This is needed for times that we are not online. I mean seriously, which one of us can be online 24/7. That is why we need a buyer for the "Alliance". Also, I am sure people like King Buzz and Ripper need a few good announcers to get people to fly their airlines. They can't do it themselves all the time.

Next, We need to find the shopkeepers that aren't so active in our community and get them more involved by making our community more attractive. For instance, I have two friends, ETO and Lady Wolf that have shops up here. They are nice clothing shops but they hardly frequent CND. I understand that the shopping up here is new but with big names like Buzz, Etopia, Lady Wolf, and Auktuma helping out our community, it would not only be beneficial to us but to them and our community as a whole.

Additionally, we need rules and regulations. In my society, Zar took the initiative to find a free website that hosts forums. He created a nice little forum for us. It may not be visually attractive, but for a free service, it gets the message across. Maybe CNSA could look into developing one of those. Here, the rules and regulations governing CNSA could be posted. This way it doesn't waste to much space on RP forum; however, we could still keep the link to it in RP and maybe post an application thread for future members.

Finally, benefits and costs need to be established. Epic is right in the fact that we have enough to pay for without worrying about membership fees. But if we do decide to implement buyers and service announcers, we need to pay them for their time somehow. Maybe a 5 ped/month fee would be nice; however, that depends on if we decide to implement that service. THe ads service that has already been mentioned is undergoing. This will definitely be beneficial for us all since we will be able to collaborate and have banners displayed for a fraction of the cost. ND will benefit from increased revenue once he figures out where his shop taxes are . Ripper could offer a transportation service which he has mentioned at one point. I for one could benefit off of that since I have friends that have stuff for me on Calypso. I don't know how much the auction % is on each item but he could offer maybe 1ped minimum or 4% max for transporting goods. Maybe for members, he could drop it down to 3% or something ( I don't really know what the auction charges % wise for transportation fees). He could also provide cheaper travel for members. I know I would provide my materials at about 1-2% lower than what I ask for to members. Maybe someone like Buzz or Kay could knock off 2% from their prices for new shopowners to beautify their shops. Neverdie has already offered to help us with our ad campaign so maybe we can get him to help sponsor other things too in order to promote our shopping community. From what I was told, Slick is the CND mentor for newbies that spawn here or come here. Maybe once a month we can all pool our resources together and give him a newbie package (Full Settler Armor, Fap-5, Opalo, and 1k in Ammo) to give to a newbie of his choice in order to further promote our CND community.

Anyway, these are just a few things I was thinking of. Let me know what you all think.

Rob
