Mostly right, and you're still missing some points.
1. Some people blast away some few 100(0?) bombs/day globalling every 2 hours. This gives ordinary miners only a VERY slight chance of being able to compete.
2. The Mining itself can only be done by people with severe armor/weapons as most domes the mobs are too heavy for "loose bombing" and any mediocre player is spending more peds on fighting then mining. This decreases the chance to
streakglobal with about 5-10 domes atleast.
3. Most avatars don't have (or can't afford yet) an appartment up in space what makes that "non-residents" are fully loaded after a few deps and either need to spend time trading or going back down to storage. In this timeframe a resident can global a few times more (which is important in a comp).
Don't get me wrong though, I love events - but after trying to participate in previous ones, I have noticed my attempts are rather pathetic and it's the opposite of profitable on my PEDcard.
I find that if events are organised (not for the LAVF alike chess' games etc) they should bear the skills of the avatars in mind and make similar competitions (agility class 30-40; strength class 60-70).Also because nothing of the "skill" system has been proven yet and imo better skilled have better loot ...
You can calculate as much as you want for prices but the most important thing is to make sure as much people as possible can compete with even chances. That'll be the best marketing you can have
