NEWS FLASH - Apt Decorating Contest
APARTMENT DECORATING CONTEST EXTENDED
Deadline to submit your pics is now Monday, March 13th
After discussions and careful consideration, the Apartment Decorating Contest is being given an extended period of time in order to give those who have expressed interest an opportunity to register and post their pics.
One person who was registered and deposited a nice chunk of money in order to decorate had issues with his Gold Card and unable for days to get online until the original deadline date, so we wanted to be fair in that respect as well.
Therefore ... there's still time to register for the contest and get your pics posted by Monday the 13th.
At a yet to be determined date and time, there will be an award ceremony where prizes will be given out for the Apartment Decorating Contest, the Movie Making Contest, and the Vogue Photos Contest.
A triple-header for sure, so stay tuned for that announcement in the near future.
Several have already posted pics at both the Reality Port and EF forums, so make sure you check into the contest thread and have a look ... very interesting decorating concepts for sure.
IN THE MEANTIME
SIGN UP AND GET DECORATING

Woohoo.
The releif :P took me ages so far to get it together :P
gr8 work both, I had a quick look around some of the other apartments and i must say that there are a lot of apts already worthy of being entered without having more done to them.
So even if ppl werent thinking of doing anything else for the event they are still worthy entrants
GL all

Oh excellent
I was struggling to find a rug lol and kind of burnt out trying to decorate it last night
Good luck to all - this means theres more time to shop in the mall and find that nice plant (at Sonnes) or that lamp (at Buzz's) ITs all at the mall really

Hmm ::bewilderment::
4 days notice was given until the end of the event.
Limited Time was also explained in detail.
It appears that, because only 3 people managed to rush around and sort their apartments and post the pics in time, the event has been given another 6 days?
Does this mean I now have to leave my cND apartment in it's current status for another 6 days?
I can't dump more ores and loot into my apartment without having to take a new set of pics!
No offense intended, but why was this event given the caveat of rules changing when it was only supposed to be running for 4 days in the first place?

Just registered here so I could reply ...
I participated in EF forum as it was allowed .. so in overall there are 5 appartment to my knowledge which were posted on time.
Now few reasons I don't like the time extent :
1) Due to the rush, I had to pay items I could have had cheaper if I had the time to look for someone else than resellers.
2) now all 5 appartements are on display and new competitors can steal our ideas.
3) It was really hard to make it by the delay given and needed an extra effort to bring everything and arrange as fast as possible (like spending 5H monday late evening in the apprtment).
I understand that there are not much ppl who registered into the event and maybe some had problems with their account. But with all due respect, I think this change in the rule doesn't respect the work done by those who made it on time. Now if I remember there was a disclosure in the event Thread saying that you could change the rules so I won't bother. Just my 2 pecs.

We totally respect your input regarding the extension of the apt decorating contest, and it was actually my idea based on several reasons, so I'll take the heat if there's heat to take.
Basically, there were a lot of things happening at once with a very short deadline. We were originally going to judge the apts on Wednesday before the event so that we would have even more awards to give out, but as is often the case, time schedules and coordinating ppl, as well as unforeseen happenings, promoted a closer look at the time factor involved.
There were variables that came into play that seemed to make it far more challenging for the community, as well as ourselves, that made us sit up and take notice. In an effort to hopefully make it less challenging and a more viable contest, it was decided to extend the contest to give everyone an opportunity to complete what they needed to do in order to be a part of it.
My apologies to those of you who feel that it was an unjust move, and I want to assure you that unbiased judging will take place. And with fairness to all contestants, there were apt photos placed in the Reality Port and EF forums in enough time for anyone else to run out and either add to their already decorated homes but not posted yet, or start from scratch just to spiff it up more.
Yes, as with any contest, there has to be a disclaimer bcuz it's important to be able to have the flexibility to make adjustments as needed given any unforeseen variables that present themselves. In this case, there were several that came into play and it was felt that it would work better if the contest was extended.
Again, my apologies if this caused an inconvenience to any of you, but it is my hope that you'll remain steady in this contest and let us judge your efforts in a fair and rewarding way. And for the record my dear community friends ... it's not rocket science to tell who has gone above and beyond in their creative and unique decorating.
Good thoughts to all of you!

Thanx for the info MS9
I had a feeling it was extended because of so much happening all at once.

I'm entered in and hope to maybe get the booby prize. I have not been in game long enough to have amassed a lot of decorations nor do I have a very creative side. Instead I wanted to participate in this new community to whatever extent I can.
The extension didn't bother me because I was in it for the fun. And so far I have gotten what I wanted. I have gotten to know some of the people in Beta South.
No heat from me MS9.

Thx Zar ... your input is greatly appreciated. I'm glad that you're having fun at CND and enjoying the Beta South neighborhood.
Game-time isn't always about the intensity of hunting, mining, crafting, skilling, or making money, but rather the ability to be creative and allowing ourselves to truly enjoy our virtual environment in ways that just make it a whole lotta fun. CND is going in a very exciting direction, and when the nightclubs are implemented <--- that's right, I said nightclub(S) ... it's going to be "party central" for SURE.
Lookin' forward to seein' ya around the neighborhood!!
